1989 GMC S-15 THM 700 R-4 L60 The governor cover looks like a wheel bearing dust cap to me. There are no bolts or nuts on it. dose it pty off like a wheel bearing cap or does it un-screw ?

Hey, I just bought a 99 Kia Sephia and the transmission shifts really hard into second gear. Sometimes it’s verrrry noticeable and loud and other times not so much. It doesn’t do this when slowing down, only accelerating. Also, it doesn’t jerk in another gears. I know my motor mount needs to be replaced and [...]

It has been slipping quit a bit when accelerating so I think its about time to have a flush and filter change. What is the average to have it done at a shop??And if I decided to do it myself how much for the parts and how difficult would it be??

All other gears work. Replaced relay, did not help. What should I check next?

I wanted to disconnect the transmission line to the radiator, cut the car on, and pump out the old fluid. I did this on my ‘85 Buick and I haven’t had any problems…can this method be sucessful on the Pontiac?

Changed radiator in early June and flushed out system. Drove it recently from Coffeyville, KS to Bartlesville, OK then it started to shift hard and buck. Parked it for a couple of hours drove it back no problems. Any explanations.

A friend has an 02 jetta with the tiptronic that needs a new trans:( He had purchased the car new. Regular service with dealer documentation. 46,000 miles. Clean car. He purchased an extended service warranty a little over two months ago. It is supposed to cover drivetrain components. [...]

So does the hole thing have to come out of the car, then put back in, or can i work on it with it remaining in the bay?
How would you recommend supporting it? I dont have any professional holders.

my transmission went bad and i can’t afford to have someone do it!

I have a 1989 Honda Accord and I want to place a large magnet on the tranny pan to collect any metal shavings floating in the transmission oil. Maybe there is another place to put a magnet that would work as well.

If I shift to a lower gear on a bicycle and then pedal, the bike doesn’t slow down. So why do lower gears on cars and motorcycles seem to resist forward movement?

i am making a go cart with a electric golfcart motor, but i want it geared. I want to run it like a external motorcycle transmission, i just need some ideas for alternative tranmissions because the external motorcycle ones are 1000 dollars plus. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

I heard some people using automotive engine oil on their motorcycle
how true is this?

normal bikes come with manual transmission and few scooters come with automatic transmission or vario matic gear system.
I’m trying to know whether both the systems can co exist in a engine.. this will enable me to use either of them as per my convenince.

The motorcycle worked fine yesterday and I rode it a short distance and was able to shift into all the gears. About 2-3 blocks away from my home, the transmission went haywire and will only shift into 4th and 5th. I would appreciate any help I could get. Thanks.

I have a 1972 or 1973 Chaparral motorcycle, the clutch, transmission, gears, and oil were all replaced. There is no rust. When shifting you have to hold the shifter down to get it into gear. Does anyone know what would be keeping from not shifting properly? Or have any idea how to fix it. If [...]

where is the tranny oil filter for a 99 ford f-150? Inside the pan itself?

On my 1992 Honda Accord (4 door automatic transmission), I am changing my transmission fluid. Where and how do I drain it, do I have to take the whole pan off the bottom of the trasmission, or is there a plug simular to the oil change? And do i change the filter as well?

just really have to change transmission fluid, coz its already kickin’ when it change gears….

OMG you bought a filter ? they only made a filter for the CVT model not the automatic. Take it back and go buy some Honda Z1 fuild for your car
