That happens when the gasket fails.

Well yes it be around 600 on the avg for cost of the gasket and labour but somebody might do it for less money if you call around to different shops and especially if it’s a small towne shop too.
A used engine wouldn’t be worth the while especially if the engine is a [...]

Im selling my ‘98 Buick for $4000 and I received a trade offer for a 2000 BMW 328i, but it doesnt run because of the blown head gaskets.

its a work truck, (lawn care) 3.0l v-6 ranger. 1992. to give you idea of the truck:

I was wondering if anyone has ever replaced the manifold gaskets as well as the fuel injectors on a 1989 Corvette L98 engine? After spending several hours on it we were finally able to remove it, but it was more than I had anticipated. I worked on many older engines (60s – 70s) and lately [...]

between #1carb and #2carb the fuel line from the gas tank goes to feed gas to the set of 4 carbs on this bike…and its leaking…Ive tried to order from honda….but they dont even make them…anyone got any suggestions on stopping this fuel rail leak???

but it still runs funny. I’ve only had it for a year so I’m not sure about previous work done. I do know that it had one owner, it was traded for a new purchase. It seemed to be well taken care of.

As I said, I’ve got a 2001 Honda cr125r, and I’m going to have the engine rebuilt because it’s didly squat for compression and leaks out the exhaust bad because of blow past. I need to replace my gaskets on my honda prelude 145k miles. I’m going to go ahead a buy a kit w/ valve & head cover gaskets. Is this a mechanic job or can an average person do it w/ step by step directions. I have some to light knowledge about cars. I can do [...]

I have done this before on a Jeep, and wonder if there is anything to watch out for, or any tricks involved in changing the valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket.
Thanks

I have more questions, My son took his car into a shop and they told him not only did he blow his head gaskets but cracked the head, Sorry no auto mechanics class for me. The car has 140000 miles on it. He bought for a 1000 dollars, personal sale. He was desperate at the [...]

I have a 1999 Subaru Forester 4 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic car and I need to replace both head gaskets and the water pump. I know I need the head gaskets, bolts, head gasket sealant, water pump, water pump gasket, water pump gasket sealer, and a timing belt. I know I need a few [...]

my subaru legacy 03 was the perfect car! Still is, but I ran into a head gasket failure this week. Had it fixed and came out with the car shifting to the left on the highway (alignment). Is this possible or normal?

They are unbelievable reliable. Consumer reports lists Subaru, Toyota and Honda as the most reliable manufacturers. I have never had to replace a head gasket on a Subaru unless someone has allowed the timing belt to go too long and it broke. I strongly recommend Subaru for reliability.

The part itself is pretty cheap if you can find a friend or family that knows what there doing to do it cause its going to cost you well over a grand because they have to take the top part of the motor apart. my 95 camaro head gasket blew and it cost me 1300 [...]
