You have uh, refilled it with fuel, right?
You might have starter motor issues… It could be your spark plugs or spark leads. Easiest option would be just take it to a mechanic.

I have not worked on this type of vehicle but! Is it fuel injected (no Carbies)? If so when you ran it out of fuel you may have burned out the fuel pump! Usually found in the fuel tank
If it is an injected engine you can turn on your ignition and listen for the fuel pump to click or start get someone to help you also if it is a carbie engine you can look for fuel to be fed into the carbies through the fuel lines they run up to the carb and then the fuel should be able to be seen through the top of the carbie if you activate the accelerator linkage,
Usually if a car is run dry on fuel its OK but occasionally the fuel pump will be old and die or the line may suck up some rubbish from the tank and stop the fuel so check for the fuel delivery first Good luck

Don’t fry me on a barbi if I’m mistaken here but could
you have air trapped in the line which is keeping the fuel
from getting to the engine… Is there a bleed system and
have you actually checked to see if there is fuel before and
after the fuel pump… let’s look at basics here.
The car ran fine. You ran out of fuel. You put a few gallons
or liters of fuel back in the tank. The car wont run…
Try a little starting fluid into the air intake… not too much,
it’s flammable and not good for the engine.. Just a spray
or two when the air filter is out and see if it runs or runs and
stalls… this will be a good start…
Good Luck to you….

If you ran it out of fuel , chances are the fuel pump has died and needs to be replaced. You can try banging on the tank as someone turns the key on and maybe jar the pump back into action , but even if it does it won`t last long. Can you hear the fuel pump humming when you fist turn the key on? If not that`s your problem.

It has fuel injection. You need to find the fuel line vent and bleed the air out of it. It should be close to the intake manifold. Running a fuel injected car out of fuel causes a lot of headaches. Air in the line will make it run poorly at best. If you can, get a mechanic’s manual for it. I’ve had one for almost every vehicle I’ve ever owned.
