13 Dec 2009Hello,
I am having engine hestiation w/ my /97 nissan quest. Took it to the keller bros. shop to do engine diagnostics. They say the fuel pump is fine, however, they said the car has bad fuel injectors and needs new knock sensor. The problem i was having was that when I acclerate, the rpm suddenly drops then jumps back up (w/o shifting gears)…
I was wondering whether its is more likely that the fuel injectors are the cause of the engine hesitation or if is the knock sensor… thank you

Get this:http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605…
And listen to each injector. If one or more sound dead, the you have fuel injector problem

To test the knock sensor, first attach timing light to the ignition, find the knock sensor (bolted to the engine block), then with a hammer lightly tap the engine block (with the engine running) – the ignition timing will be retarded (delayed) if the knock sensor is working.
Good Luck…

first, use fuel injection cleaner, run the engine for a while and see if the problem still.
if the problem not solve, you should change the sensor.
it gonna cost you around $100 to do everything.
i have quest also and that happen to me
