The inner felt seal on the driver’s door window is a simple piece that wedges onto the ridge of metal. The replacement piece I got has an additional rubber lip running along it’s entire length on on the inner side. I have been told that the part was superceded by porsche to this [...]

I have a 1968 porsche 912 targa, and i wanted to replace it with a 911 engine. Where could i get one that fits and what modifications will i have to make to the car for it to run properly? cooling…brakes…etc.

Can the old frames be welded? Is it easier to buy replacement doors and repaint them?

I have a 1991 Porsche 911 C4. I need some precise advice on how to replace the fuel filter. If possible, with some pictures.
Thank you, Henri

it has partial leather bucket seats, 88k. Radio, speedometer light and passenger window doesn’t work. Could use a CV joint replacement but isn’t an issue.

Stick with the genuine Porsche pads or at least OEM (Textar or Pagid). Problems I have seen with aftermarket stuff: they don’t stop as well, they squeeeeekkk and sometimes they aren’t quiet the right size so when you stop and then accelerate, the pads shift within the calipers and “click”. (The last [...]

I pretty much have my heart set on acquiring one. But want to be fully prepared for it. Any good information on these questions would be appreciated including estimated replacement tenors for tires, brakd pads, rotars, transmission fluid (for stick) etc. etc.

My son replaced my 4 spark plugs with new (and compatible) ones.
engine runs, but seems hesitant.
after rechecking everything, he remembered that while unscrewing one of the old spark plugs he saw that its ceramic was chipped, but didn’t make sure to see if the chip found was the whole or part of the missing chip.

How do you change a Porsche 928 Head Gasket?

last time i heard of one being sold it went for £2750…

The oil pressure (flashing oil light, down around 2 bars) in the car was low, and I pulled over immediately. Oil on the dipstick is clean and full. Unfortunately now the car won’t start. Its hard to tell whether it is the oil pump or the entire engine-I know oil pumps are around 750, while [...]

The Park & Fog lamp unit on my Porsche 928 is damaged and pushed in a little. I bought a replacement unit include the Corner, Park and Fog lamp but I don’t know how to remove and replace that off the car, How do I take the old unit off. I really appreciate your [...]

I recently purchased a 1972 Porsche coupe with low-profile tires. The tires will soon need replacement and I would like to go with a softer-riding tire, but one that would allow for occasional spirited driving, as well as for freeway driving. It would be helpful if I could find out what the original tire size [...]

A replacement key complete will cost you in the region of £230 inc VAT coded on.
This is the electronic key head (Which needs encryption codes from Porsche coded on using the Porsche System Tester) and the metal shank part which is supplied from Porsche in Germany (But still only takes approximately 2 working days to [...]

I was driving at about 65 mph in 5th gear, I shifted to 6th and I no longer had power. The engine continues to run but no matter what gear I engage, it is like I am in neutral. Any idea what the issue might be?

I took my 1983 Porsche 944 in to get checked out a couple weeks ago and they said it needed a new rack and pinion and a new parking brake. I was wondering what a (good) price estimate would be to get all of those replaced?
I know that the rack and pinion have something [...]

Brakepads are about $150 for front and $150 for back for genuine porsche parts (so count in $300). Oil depending on what you choose (they recommend Mobile 1 synthetic) + an OEM filter comes close to $60. If the dealer does it then it is around $150.
Most dealers charge anywhere between $75 to [...]
