I own a 2001 Ford Mustang, V6 3.8L Auto. I’m about 98% sure the ignition coil has gone out but I want to test it anyway. I have Chilton’s repair manual and I’m honestly not getting a clue how to do this. I’m not stupid, I do most all routine maintenance myself (oil changes, [...]

Can someone translate that for me??
Does that mean the coil is bad or some other component in that circuit?

truck continues to jump and i have very poor acceleration.

I’m not getting any spark from my coil, i have tested with a spark tester, the kind you place over the wire and it lights up when there is a spark. Initially there was a weak light coming from the tester when i first tested it, so i pushed down the wire going to the [...]

I can do this myself but not sure what is the easiest way to get to it and what needs to be removed. No. 2 is in the back of the engine and I can’t find a web site to show me how or any pictures.

I have a mid 60s ford 302 and i replaced the ignition coil with an msd ignition coil and now it wont start, it cranks but it there is no power going to the plugs. We did have to take the wiring harness off and put the leads directly on using lugs. we put the [...]

i am going to assume you have the 5.4 liter motor (the most common, and you didn’t specify!!) it is really a simple proceedure, disconnect the negative battery cable, disconnect the coil pack electrical connector, remove the hold down bolt next to the coil pack, pull straight up on the coil pack, replace, push new [...]

plugs and wire are “new” just put in a new ignition coil. still no spark, pulled wire and no spark between it and plug. anyone know what it might be?

What do you mean by the sequence on the ignition coil? Need more info. What are you trying to do, replace it?

2000 and newer Taurus 3.0 Liter modular engines have Coil Over Plug (COP), so you remove the ignition coils that sit right on top of the spark plugs.http://www.aa1car.com/library/copign.htm

I just want to be able to know so I don’t get charged up the ying-yang in labor.

It is the 2.0 zetec engine and i need to know where the ignition coil is so i can hook up a tachometer i’m about to buy. i don’t have a manual and i’m only familiar with tractors and diesel engines. links to pics or videos would be great.

troubleshooting my crown vic for psossible bad ignition coil or coils… it seems to sputter or hesitiate at times otherwise it is a strong running car, did a tune up replaced plugs and all fuel injectors are hitting on time… coils would be my next move.

I have a 2001 Ford Escape XLS that is misfiring sometimes, and I was told to change the coil pack. Is this the same as the ignition coil pack? I have a new fuel pump, and a tune-up and the car is still misfiring. Please help.

can a weak ignition coil on my 93 explorer cause excess carbon build up on spark plugs and rough idle. Just replaced the spark plugs yesterday and after it runs for a little bit, the plugs are filthy, and it wont fire until I clean them. Any suggestions at all. I am getting desperate. I [...]

The model T Ford ignition coil produces a spark about 1/2″ long (12mm ) in free air what would the voltage be to leap this size of gap

I am having trouble with the tie rod coming loose.I have replace it got the strut check its ok. any idea .i wonder if it could be the hub assembly. and if you can buy bearing. or if you need to have them press.

Our Camry had to have the struts and support assemblies replaced at 69,000 miles because it was impossible to hold it on the road. The dealer charged $1050 to fix the problem. My old 1989 Ford truck never had struts or shocks replaced and it had over 150,000 miles. We also have a 1992 Toyota [...]

Car With Strut Noise??

In: Ford

12 Feb 2010

Here lately I’ve noticed that when I drive over bumps like on a gravel road I can hear a thudish sounding noise from the front right tire area. If there is a low spot in the road my front end seems to bound more than it used to. Is it time to change my struts. [...]
