The heat gauge is up a little more than usual.
The reservoir has some coolant in it.
I noticed that there is no radiator cap.
I also noticed the sticker says to only use Volvo coolant. Is that true?

You don’t say what engine it is but I had the same thing happen, it was the engine oil cooler. When one of the tubes inside goes bad the engine oil leaks into the raw water side (since the oil pressure is higher then the water pressure) and comes out the exhaust.
